Built on Colt’s AR-15 platform, the Match Target Lightweight MT6530 is a semi-automatic, direct-impingement rifle chambered in 5.56mm NATO. It uses a STANAG-pattern magazine interface and has a 10+1 capacity. The lower is marked "CAL. .223," while the barrel is correctly marked for 5.56 NATO.
The 16-inch lightweight pencil barrel has a plain, non-threaded crown and is roll-marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7." The 1:7 twist pairs with the 5.56 NATO chambering and the "C MP" proof indicates Colt Magnetic Particle inspection.
The fixed A2 carry-handle upper includes a brass deflector, forward assist, and ejection port cover. Sighting is via an A2 front sight post and an A2 carry-handle rear sight with adjustable drum, providing a robust, period-correct iron-sight setup.
Forged aluminum receivers wear Colt’s gray anodized finish, complemented by phosphated small parts. Furniture consists of a fixed polymer stock with sling loop, A2 pistol grip, and carbine-length ribbed polymer handguards. Notable features include the large two-piece screw-type front pivot pin and the CSL-prefix serial range associated with the Match Target Lightweight series.
