The slide carries factory rollmarks for "OFFICER'S ACP" and "COLT MK IV — SERIES 80," with a Hartford, Connecticut frame address. The barrel hood is marked "COLT 45 AUTO." The configuration includes vertical rear cocking serrations and a lowered/relieved ejection port.
Controls and operating features include single-action, short-recoil operation, a single-sided thumb safety, a grip safety, and a rounded Commander-style hammer. The trigger is a lightened, three-hole aluminum unit. Sights are fixed: a ramped, staked front blade with insert and a low-profile fixed rear notch.
