This DPMS Mod. A-15 is a Minnesota-era rifle with a lower marked St. Cloud, MN U.S.A., built on the AR-15 platform and chambered in 5.56mm NATO. It features a flat-top upper with forward assist, shell deflector, and dust cover, plus a smooth-top gas block and a 16-inch barrel with an A2-pattern flash hider. Thoughtful custom touches include a drop-in polymer quad-rail handguard with rail covers, an installed vertical foregrip, and a rubber overmolded finger-groove pistol grip.

The A-15 runs a semi-automatic, direct-impingement system and is marked on the receiver with “CAL 223–5.56MM,” confirming compatibility with 5.56 NATO ammunition. The receivers are aluminum with a matte black anodized finish for durability and a clean, uniform look.
The 16-inch unfluted barrel is threaded and capped with an A2-pattern flash hider. The upper is a flat-top configuration with a rail, forward assist, shell deflector, and dust cover. A smooth-top gas block (no rail section) is fitted, and there are no iron sights installed.
Furniture is set up for control and accessory mounting: a two-piece polymer drop-in quad-rail handguard with rail covers and an installed vertical foregrip. The pistol grip is a rubber overmolded, finger-groove design.
The polymer stock is a 6-position adjustable, telescoping unit with a sling loop. The stated length of pull is 12.0 inches, allowing a compact, adaptable fit.
This rifle was produced during DPMS’s St. Cloud, Minnesota period and is marked accordingly. It presents as a practical, two-tone AR-15 configuration with black receivers/furniture and a matte gray barrel and A2 flash hider, with rails available on the upper receiver and handguard for mounting as desired.
