    What’s Included

    • Itajubá Factory - Brazil Mod. 08/34 .30 bolt-action rifle chambered in .30-06

Built on a large-ring Mauser 98 receiver with a stripper-clip guide, this short rifle follows the proven 98 action format and uses a fixed internal 5-round magazine loaded via stripper clips. The forged-steel receiver, turned-down bolt, and classic flag safety reflect its military lineage, with additional safety features that include a gas shield on the bolt shroud and gas venting.

The 24-inch steel barrel is unthreaded and paired with iron sights consisting of a drift-adjustable front post with protective ears and a tangent-leaf rear sight. This setup provides the period-correct sight picture expected on mid-20th-century service rifles.

The hardwood stock is oil-finished and includes a right-side grasping groove, an upper handguard, bottom sling swivels, and a buttstock takedown disk. Hardware includes a front barrel band/nose-cap assembly with a bayonet lug and stacking rod, plus a flat steel buttplate.

Markings are consistent and desirable: the receiver ring bears the Brazilian national crest, while the receiver is marked "FABRICA DE ITAJUBA - BRASIL" and "MOD. 08/34 .30." The barrel carries a "GERMANY" marking. This model is commonly referred to as the M1949 short rifle, and this example also shows yellow painted letters "PIP" on the left buttstock. Matching serial numbers are present on the receiver, bolt handle, and stock.
