Built on the AR-10 pattern, the SIG716 Patrol uses a short-stroke gas piston system and accepts LR/SR pattern magazines. The upper includes a forward assist, case deflector, and an ejection-port dust cover. The 16-inch barrel is roll-marked 7.62 NATO and features a medium/heavy profile with a threaded muzzle and flash hider.
The free-float aluminum quad-rail provides a continuous 1913 Picatinny top rail with additional rail sections at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions for accessories. Controls include an ambidextrous safety selector and a right-side magazine release.
Ergonomics are anchored by a SIG-branded 6-position collapsible polymer stock with a QD sling socket and an adjustable length of pull from 12.5 to 15.5 inches, plus a textured polymer pistol grip. The rifle wears a matte black finish on the receivers and handguard with a contrasting light gray barrel.
An optics package is already installed: a Nikon M-308 4-16x42 scope with the BDC 800 reticle in a Nikon M-308 one-piece mount. Back-up flip-up front and rear iron sights are fitted as well, along with a Magpul RVG vertical foregrip, a spring-leg rail-mounted bipod, and a rifle sling.
The receiver bears SIG SAUER and SIG716 7.62 NATO markings with an Exeter, NH, USA rollmark. Capacity is 25+1 with the included pair of 25-round Magpul PMAG LR/SR Gen M3 windowed magazines.
