The XTM-22 pairs an early "XTM-22" marked slide with a frame marked "M1911-A1 FS 22XT," reflecting its position in the XT 22 Magnum series. It uses a delayed-blowback operating system engineered specifically for .22 WMR, contributing to dependable cycling with this high-velocity rimfire cartridge.
Its 4.75 inch two-piece, pinned "tube-within-a-tube" barrel and open-top slide design are purpose-built features of the XT platform. The slide wears rear serrations only, while the fiber-optic (orange) front sight is dovetailed to the barrel and the adjustable square-notch rear is set in a slide dovetail for precise zeroing.
The pistol retains classic 1911 ergonomics with single-action-only operation, a beavertail grip safety, and a thumb safety. It features a skeletonized three-hole trigger and a Commander-style skeletonized hammer. The beveled magwell and smooth front strap support clean magazine changes and a comfortable hold.
Both slide and frame are steel (4140 carbon steel frame per RIA) with a Parkerized matte gray finish. Checkered gray grip panels with RIA medallions provide a secure, straightforward texture. Capacity is 14+1 rounds, and weight is approximately 35 oz.
This XT design does not lock the slide open on an empty magazine, consistent with the model’s operating system. Import and proof markings include AP INTL - Pahrump NV and ACP Philippines; the pistol was manufactured in the Philippines.
