Zhongzhou Machine Works PW87 12 Gauge Lever-Action Shotgun — 20 Inch Barrel, Fixed Modified Choke, CAI Import, 5+1
This Zhongzhou Machine Works PW87 is a modern Chinese reproduction of the Winchester 1887/1901 lever-action shotgun, imported by Century Arms (CAI Georgia, VT) with visible import markings. It features a 20-inch steel barrel with a fixed Modified choke and a tubular 5-round magazine for a 5+1 capacity. What’s Included
- Zhongzhou Machine Works PW87 12 Gauge lever-action shotgun
Built by Zhongzhou Machine Works in China, the PW87 retains the hallmark features of the original 1887/1901 design while using modern production methods. This model is an upward-ejecting lever-action with a rolling/rotating-block operating system, providing the distinctive handling and manual of arms associated with the classic pattern. Century Arms import marks include "CAI GEORGIA VT," "ZZ," "CHINA," and "MADE IN CHINA."
The shotgun is chambered for 2-3/4 inch 12 gauge and uses a 5-round tubular magazine for a 5+1 total capacity. The steel barrel measures 20 inches on this example, while factory literature lists a 19-inch barrel. It is fitted with a fixed Modified choke and is marked "LEAD SHOT ONLY." A single front bead provides a simple, fast sight picture, and there is no rear sight.
Hardwood furniture includes a full stock with a straight comb and a hard buttplate, paired with a one-piece wraparound hardwood fore-end secured by screws into the forend iron. The barrel and magazine tube wear a blued finish over steel construction, while the receiver is in-the-white/bare steel with most of the bluing removed. The length of pull is 13.0 inches, with a factory-listed overall length of approximately 37.75 inches and a factory-listed weight of about 7.9 lb.
This PW87 also features a practical customization: the lever loop is wrapped with cord to enhance grip and comfort during cycling. The result is a faithful reproduction layout with a user-ready lever interface, while preserving the classic appearance and function of the original pattern.
