This Model 9422 is built on a blued steel receiver and a round 22.5 in steel barrel with a recessed crown. It uses an under-barrel tubular magazine with a removable inner tube and a brass loading port, providing a 15+1 capacity in .22 LR and compatibility with .22 Long.
The walnut stock and long fore-end feature cut checkering, a pistol-grip profile, and a fluted comb for a secure hold and classic handling. A black Winchester-branded hard rubber buttplate completes the stock set. Two barrel/magazine bands secure the barrel and tube assembly.
Sighting is straightforward and practical: a ramped, dovetailed front blade (with removable protective hood when equipped) pairs with a semi-buckhorn rear that adjusts via an elevator. The receiver is grooved for 3/8 in rimfire rings for those who prefer to mount optics using rimfire-style rings.
It retains the external hammer with spur and a standard loop lever.
