Product Description

    Winchester Model 59 12 Gauge Semi-Auto Shotgun, Win-Lite Barrel, 23 in, 2 3/4 in Chamber, Roll-Engraved Aluminum Receiver

The Winchester Model 59 stands out for its Win-Lite fiberglass-wrapped steel barrel, lightweight aluminum alloy receiver, and distinctive factory roll engraving with a waterfowl scene and scrollwork. This 1960s-era example features a 23-inch plain, non-ribbed barrel chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells, right-side ejection, and classic walnut furniture with bordered point-pattern checkering on the forend and a smooth, uncheckered pistol-grip buttstock.

    Condition

    Overall Condition: Poor condition.

Bore Condition: Poor - Noticeable dirt, stains, significant corrosion or damage.

Specific Condition Notes: The barrel shows significant damage at the muzzle. The stock and receiver exhibit excessive finish wear. There are severe scuffs, scratches, and areas of pitting. Use is not recommended until the barrel is replaced and the firearm is inspected by a qualified gunsmith. Sold as-is.

    What’s Included

    • Winchester Model 59 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun

Winchester engineered the Model 59 with a recoil-operated system that uses a floating chamber while retaining a fixed barrel. This design, paired with the aluminum alloy receiver, creates a distinct autoloader configuration that differs from gas systems and is part of the model’s identity.

The plain Win-Lite composite barrel is a fiberglass-wrapped steel construction and is marked with "12 GA 2 3/4 CHAM" and "WINLITE." The receiver top is rounded with anti-glare serrations, and the shotgun ejects from the right side. Factory roll engraving adds a waterfowl scene and scrollwork, complemented by the Winchester proof mark (oval).

Furniture includes a walnut pistol-grip buttstock with a 14-inch length of pull (smooth/uncheckered) and a slim walnut forend with bordered point-pattern checkering. The checkered buttplate is marked "WINCHESTER," matching the period-correct aesthetic and branding.

Receiver markings read "WINCHESTER – TRADE MARK – MADE IN U.S.A. – M 59 – 12 GA." This model was produced in the United States from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s with approximately 82,000 made, placing this example firmly in the 1960s production era.
