    Springfield Armory Model 1903 .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle, 24 inch Barrel, 1917 WWI Production, Low-Number Receiver

    This Springfield Armory Model 1903 was manufactured in 1917 and features a low-number receiver from the WWI era. The receiver ring marking "U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903" is legible, and the rifle retains its cock-on-open M1903 action with an internal 5-round staggered box magazine. It presents as a collectible U.S.-made service rifle with key M1903 characteristics and period configuration.

    Built in 1917 at Springfield Armory, this Model 1903 comes from the WWI era and uses a low-number receiver (below 800,000), a detail many collectors track within the 1903 lineage. The receiver ring legend "U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903" remains clear.

    The rifle employs the M1903 cock-on-open action with the standard M1903 bolt handle, a forged steel receiver, and an internal 5-round staggered box magazine. It retains the characteristic wing safety and a functional magazine cut-off lever.

    It uses the standard 24 inch barrel length paired with a full-length, straight-grip hardwood stock. A partial upper handguard (forward section) is present; the rear portion is missing. The barrel bands and associated hardware are not installed.

    Sighting equipment follows the M1903 pattern; rear sight present as configured (see photos). The front sight is not installed.
