The 28" octagonal steel barrel is secured by a single wedge pin and a hooked breech, allowing straightforward takedown for cleaning. The 1:48 twist rifling and .45 caliber bore pair with a traditional sidelock percussion system for classic black powder shooting.
The right-hand action is a percussion cap sidelock with drum/snail and nipple, designed for No. 11 caps. Double set triggers are fitted, providing a traditional Hawken-style trigger arrangement.
Sighting is via iron sights: a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable open rear sight. This setup offers precise, repeatable sight adjustments.
The walnut half-stock includes a cheekpiece and brass patch box, with brass furniture throughout, including the buttplate, nosecap, ramrod thimbles and entry pipe, and wedge escutcheons. The lockplate carries factory-applied scroll engraving, and the length of pull measures 13.5".
