The WMP is a full-size, blowback-operated, hammer-fired design with a shrouded external hammer. Its fixed, bull-profile carbon-steel barrel measures 4.5 inches, supporting the .22 WMR cartridge with a factory-rated capacity of 15+1. The polymer frame keeps weight manageable while delivering a solid, duty-ready feel.
The slide is configured for practical handling and setup. Front and rear serrations aid manipulation, lightening windows reduce slide mass, and the optics cut comes installed with a cover plate when not in use. These features are paired to a trigger with a curved polymer shoe and an integral safety blade, plus a trigger safety system.
Controls are designed for flexibility. The magazine release is fully ambidextrous and offers both a push-button and a paddle-style option. The grip uses Walther’s performance-duty texture with finger grooves for consistent purchase. A built-in accessory rail accommodates compatible lights or accessories.
Sights are iron and set up for rapid acquisition: an orange fiber-optic front blade in a dovetail and a black square-notch rear. This sight picture is clear and uncomplicated.
Dimensions support its full-size role while remaining well-balanced: overall length is approximately 8.2 inches, height about 5.7 inches, width about 1.5 inches, and weight approximately 27.8–28 ounces. The pistol is made in Germany and carries DE and CIP N proof marks, along with CARL WALTHER ULM/DO MADE IN GERMANY and the WALTHER ARMS FORT SMITH, AR importer mark. The WMP line was introduced in 2022.
