The Model 15-2VH is built on a steel small frame with a polished blued finish and a fluted six-chamber cylinder. It uses a forward-mounted cylinder latch and runs in double-action/single-action with a smooth trigger and an exposed, serrated-spur hammer. The installed grip is a checkered wood target style with a DW medallion, and a spare wood combat-style grip is included.
Dan Wesson’s interchangeable, tensioned barrel system uses a shroud and front nut to secure the rifled tube, allowing precise barrel swaps. This revolver has an approximately 8-inch barrel installed. The included VH shrouds feature a ventilated rib and a full-length underlug consistent with the VH designation, while the included 4- and 2-inch H shrouds have a solid, non-vented rib and a full-length underlug.
Sighting is handled by a fully adjustable square-notch rear and an interchangeable pinned ramp front blade. The package includes front sight inserts, allowing the shooter to tailor the front sight color. Chambered in .357 Magnum, the six-shot cylinder is suited to a wide range of .357 Magnum loads.
