The FS2000 Standard retains the hallmark forward-ejection system that routes spent cases to a front-right port, making operation equally practical for right- or left-handed shooters. Its bullpup configuration provides an approximately 29.1 inch overall length while maintaining a full-length 17.5 inch barrel, resulting in a compact profile without sacrificing barrel length.
The cold-hammer-forged steel barrel uses a 1:7 RH twist to stabilize a wide range of 5.56 NATO projectiles. A short-stroke gas piston system drives the action, and a multi-port muzzle device is installed at the muzzle. Controls include a cross-bolt safety. The rifle accepts standard STANAG/M16-pattern magazines and comes with one 30-round aluminum magazine.
Construction centers on a glass-fiber-reinforced polymer housing finished in black, with the FN oval logo molded above the magazine well. Approximate weight is 7.6 lb without a magazine, and length of pull is 14.5 inches, contributing to the rifle’s well-balanced handling within the compact bullpup layout.
