The Enhanced configuration features a duckbill extended grip safety, a flat vertically serrated mainspring housing, and a smooth front strap. It retains a solid, non-skeletonized trigger and uses a standard barrel bushing with a short GI guide rod and checkered plug.
The stainless construction shows Colt’s period-correct finish with brushed flats and matte rounds. Slide details include vertical rear cocking serrations and a lowered/flared ejection port.
Sighting is a fixed 3-dot system with a white-dot front and a dovetail rear. Controls include a manual thumb safety, grip safety, and the Series 80 firing-pin block. The hammer is the Commander-style rowel type.
Factory markings include the model rollmarks "COLT MK IV / SERIES 80" and "COLT GOVERNMENT MODEL." Black checkered synthetic grip panels with Colt medallions are installed, with an additional set of Colt factory rubber panels included.
