The 6-inch barrel pairs a ventilated rib with rectangular slots and a full-length underlug that shrouds the ejector rod. The barrel is non-ported. The revolver is finished in Colt's high-polish Royal Blue across the barrel, frame, and cylinder, highlighting its carbon-steel construction.

The action is double-action/single-action on Colt's I-frame, using a hand-fitted V/leaf-spring system noted for a smooth double-action pull. It includes a trigger and an exposed hammer with a wide, checkered spur for positive control.
The 6-shot fluted cylinder features a knurled ejector-rod tip and is finished to match the rest of the revolver. Barrel markings read "PYTHON 357" over ".357 MAGNUM CTG." on the left side, with "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG.
CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." on the right, and the Rampant Colt logo on the left frame.
Factory-style checkered walnut target stocks with gold Colt medallions complement the revolver's presentation and handling, consistent with the Python's 1980s configuration and features.
