It features the factory 16.25-inch cold hammer forged, chrome-lined barrel, a monolithic numbered 1913 top rail, and a user-adjustable gas regulator. This example is professionally upgraded with a KDG MREX extended M-LOK handguard, KDG folding/telescoping stock, VZ pistol grip, and a Timney 690S trigger, and it comes outfitted with a Trijicon MRO, Steiner CQBL-1, and SureFire Scout Light integrated via a UNITY/TNVC TAPS dual pressure switch.

Manufactured in Belgium and marked accordingly, this SCAR 16S bears the receiver inscription "FN HERSTAL BELGIUM SCAR 16S cal. 5.56x45" along with the "FNH USA FREDERICKSBURG VA" import mark. The upper is forged aluminum with a polymer trigger module, and the rifle uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a multi-lug rotating bolt. A monolithic, numbered MIL-STD-1913 top rail provides continuous mounting space across the receiver and gas block.
The factory 16.25-inch barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome-lined, and the muzzle is threaded and fitted with a multi-port pronged brake/flash-compensator. The rifle includes flip-up iron sights with a hooded front and an aperture/diopter rear for backup aiming.
Upgrades are centered around performance and ergonomics: a KDG MREX extended M-LOK handguard increases mounting real estate and grip options; a KDG folding/telescoping stock provides compact storage and length-of-pull adjustment; a VZ pistol grip enhances control; and a Timney 690S trigger offers a refined fire-control feel. An ambidextrous safety selector supports bilateral operation.
The integrated electro-optics suite includes a Trijicon MRO (MRO-C-2200003, 2.0 MOA) on a Scalarworks mount, a Steiner CQBL-1 IR/visible laser, and a SureFire Scout Light with KX1A head, all coordinated via a UNITY/TNVC TAPS dual pressure switch. The SureFire light is mounted on a LaRue Tactical QD mount for quick removal or repositioning.
