The M6A2 uses LWRC's short-stroke gas piston system, with the op-rod housing visible forward of the handguard. The 16.1 in barrel is threaded and fitted with a cylindrical multi-ported muzzle brake/compensator. Barrel specs include polygonal rifling and a 1:7 RH twist for 5.56mm NATO. The rifle feeds from STANAG-pattern detachable magazines and is marked for 5.56mm NATO on the receiver.
This example is comprehensively upgraded. Controls include a Radian 45/90 ambidextrous safety and a Magpul BAD Lever for efficient bolt-catch manipulation. The fire control group is a LaRue MBT two-stage trigger. Handling and ergonomics are enhanced with a BCM Gunfighter charging handle, a Magpul CTR 6-position stock, and a STARK AR pistol grip.
The Samson Evolution Series 12.37 in free-float handguard provides a lightweight, rigid platform with a T-marked top rail and built-in routing for the light’s pressure-switch cable. Flip-up front and rear backup iron sights are installed. Markings observed include “SAMSON EVOLUTION SERIES 12.37" PATENT PENDING” on the handguard and “BCM GUNFIGHTER 5.56mm” with the U.S. flag on the charging handle.
