The Performance Center M2.0 treatment brings a tuned action and the M2.0 grip texture to the proven Shield platform. This striker-fired pistol maintains the slim, single-stack profile for easy concealment while delivering .40 S&W performance with a 7+1 capacity.
The optics-ready slide includes a rectangular cover plate installed and three elongated lightening cuts per side to the rear of the front sight (between the front sight and the ejection port). Wavy rear serrations aid manipulation, and the stainless-steel slide and barrel wear Smith & Wesson’s durable Armornite finish.
Fiber-optic sights are installed from the factory, with a green front and red/orange rear, both set in dovetails. The 4.0-inch barrel and overall length of 7.0 inches provide a solid sight radius, while the pistol remains compact at approximately 22.2 ounces unloaded and 5.125 inches in height.
Chambered in .40 S&W, this Shield includes one 7-round and one 6-round magazine. The frame is marked "CAUTION: CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED," indicating no magazine disconnect. External markings include "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A." and "M&P 40 SHIELD Performance Center M2.0." The frame retains the classic Shield profile with no accessory rail.
