    What’s Included

    • Smith & Wesson factory two-piece blue box with matching end label for Model 17-4
    • Smith & Wesson 'K-22 Masterpiece Revolver Model No. 17' instruction sheet

The Model 17-4 is the K-22 Masterpiece configuration, built on the steel K-frame with a square-butt grip profile and a fluted six-shot cylinder. This example is chambered in .22 LR and wears a polished blue finish that complements its target-grade setup.

Its 8 3/8 in. barrel has a serrated top rib and a partial ejector-rod shroud, providing a long sight radius and stable balance. The front sight is a plain black blade on a raised base, paired with a micrometer-adjustable S&W rear sight for precise zeroing.

Target-focused controls include a factory trigger and a wide target hammer with a checkered spur. The revolver operates in double-action/single-action and features a knurled ejector-rod tip for positive extraction.

This 17-4 engineering change relocates the gas ring to the cylinder, and the yoke cut is marked "MOD. 17-4." The factory stocks are checkered target-style wood with S&W medallions. Manufactured in the United States in 1980, it represents a well-specified example of the K-22 Masterpiece line.
