The SIG Sauer MPX Competition in 9mm pairs a 16-inch, threaded barrel with a short-stroke gas-piston system and a purpose-built competition feature set. This example includes a Timney trigger, Radian 45/90 ambidextrous safety, and an installed Trijicon MRO red dot, along with flip-up sights. It features an aluminum free-float M-LOK handguard; the receiver has a full-length Picatinny top rail, while the handguard incorporates two short integral top 1913 Picatinny sections (no continuous top rail).

The MPX Competition uses a short-stroke gas-piston operating system (not blowback), paired to a 16-inch, threaded barrel with a muzzle brake. The barrel is marked "9mm NATO" and uses a 1:10 twist. An aluminum, free-float M-LOK handguard runs the full barrel length; the receiver carries a full-length Picatinny top rail, while the handguard incorporates two short integral top 1913 Picatinny sections (no continuous top rail).
Competition-focused controls include an ambidextrous magazine release, ambidextrous bolt catch, and an ambidextrous extended charging handle. This rifle is equipped with a Radian 45/90 ambidextrous safety and a Timney trigger. Flip-up front and rear sights are installed for immediate use.
The installed Trijicon MRO 2.0 MOA red dot (MRO-C-2200003) provides a ready-to-run sighting solution and comes with its original hard case/box. One 20-round translucent MPX-pattern magazine is included.
The receiver and frame are aluminum alloy, and the rifle is made in the USA. The stock is fixed with an 11.0-inch length of pull. The factory box end label shows model code RMPX-16B-9 matching the rifle.
