Product Description

    Browning BPS Field 20 Gauge Pump-Action, 28 inch Vent-Rib Barrel, Fixed Modified (M) Choke, 1982 Miroku-Japan

This Browning BPS Field 20 gauge was manufactured by Miroku in Japan in 1982 and features a 28 inch Special Steel barrel with a fixed Modified (M) choke. It uses Browning’s bottom-ejecting, pump-action design with a precision-machined steel receiver, and is set up with a classic blued finish and checkered walnut stock. The bore is mirror-bright, and the barrel is marked "Special Steel 20GA 2-3/4" AND 3" FIELD MODEL-28". It represents the fixed-choke era prior to Browning’s Invector system.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Specific Condition Notes: There are light scratches and scuffs, with mild finish wear and pitting on the receiver.

    What’s Included

    • Browning BPS Field 20 gauge pump-action shotgun

The BPS Field is built around a steel, bottom-ejecting receiver and a top-tang safety, delivering Browning’s classic pump-action layout in a 20 gauge field configuration. This example retains its blued finish and features the gold Browning Buckmark on the trigger guard and a knurled magazine cap.

The 28 inch Special Steel barrel carries a vent rib and a single front bead for a clean sighting plane. It is chambered for both 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells and is fitted with a fixed Modified (M) choke, a versatile constriction for the Field series.

Furniture is checkered walnut with a pistol-grip profile and a Browning-marked hard buttplate. The stock’s cut checkering provides a secure hold, and the 14.25 inch length of pull offers a full-size fit.

Produced by Miroku in Japan in 1982, this shotgun comes from the fixed-choke period that preceded Browning’s Invector system. Capacity is 3 rounds, and the barrel is clearly roll-marked "Special Steel 20GA 2-3/4" AND 3" FIELD MODEL-28".
