The Model 608 is an eight-shot, large-frame DA/SA revolver chambered in .357 Magnum and also compatible with .38 Special +P. Its capacity and chambering make it a versatile choice for shooters who want magnum performance with the option to run .38 Special loads.
The 4-inch stainless steel barrel has a heavy profile with a full underlug, a shrouded ejector rod, and a factory top porting/expansion-chamber system. The barrel uses a 1:16.5 RH twist.
Construction is all stainless steel with a matte finish on the frame and cylinder. It features an exposed hammer, a checkered push-forward cylinder latch, and a knurled ejector-rod tip for positive manipulation.
Sighting equipment includes an adjustable rear (marked for elevation "UP" and windage "R") and a ramped front sight with an orange/red insert for definition. The grip is a black rubber one-piece with finger grooves and Taurus medallions.
Import and origin markings read Taurus Int'l Mfg. Miami, FL-USA and Made in Brazil. The internal yoke cut is marked "7674" over "608." Overall length is approximately 9.67 inches, and the unloaded weight is about 45 oz.
