The Model 63-3 is a stainless steel J-frame "Kit Gun" chambered in .22 LR with a compact 2-inch barrel. It uses a 6-shot fluted cylinder and a double-action/single-action system with an exposed, checkered hammer spur. The round-butt grip frame is fitted with black rubber finger-groove stocks for a secure hold.
The barrel has an underlug and a shrouded ejector rod, complemented by a knurled ejector-rod tip. A longitudinally serrated topstrap rib helps reduce glare. The revolver carries a uniform satin stainless finish across the frame, cylinder, and barrel.
Sights include a ramped front with an orange insert and a micrometer-click adjustable rear, providing a clear sight picture and precise elevation and windage adjustments. This example retains the S&W trademark seal on the left sideplate, and the frame window is stamped "63-3."
