This rifle starts with the BRNO Vz.24 Mauser 98 large-ring action from Czechoslovakia, known for controlled-round feed, a third safety lug, and gas-venting features. It has the turned-down bolt handle and a 3-position flag safety typical of the pattern.
It is rebarreled/assembled in .270 Winchester as a Century Arms Centurion M98 with a 22 inch sporter barrel. The underside of the barrel is marked "C.I.A. ST. ALB. VT U.S.A.
CENTURION M98 270," and the receiver left wall reads "CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA, A.S., BRNO Vz.24" with small proof/inspection markings.
The rifle retains a full-length military-pattern wood stock with one barrel band and a nose cap. It includes a belly sling swivel on the buttstock and a sling swivel on the forward band, plus an inlaid buttstock medallion. The upper handguard has been deleted as part of the sporterization, and an aftermarket recoil pad has been installed. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
A one-piece receiver-top scope base is installed with a fixed 4x32 scope secured in two rings. Feeding is from an internal staggered-column box magazine with a 4-round capacity.
