Core build details include a steel barrel and an aluminum-alloy receiver finished in matte. The receiver is drilled and tapped for optics/sights, and an adhesive loop (Velcro) panel is applied to the left side of the receiver. A bayonet lug and a magazine cap with sling stud are present.
Controls and sights are straightforward: a tang safety with red indicator and a raised front post with an orange insert. Factory markings include "MOSSBERG 590S" and "MOSSBERG - NORTH HAVEN, CT U.S.A. - 590 12 GA." on the receiver and barrel, confirming model, origin, and gauge.
