It uses the 92FS locking-block operating system and the FS upgrade with a reinforced slide/hammer-pin interface. The action is DA/SA with a slide-mounted ambidextrous safety/decocker and a firing-pin block. The open-top slide is paired with a full-length guide rod.
Sighting is straightforward and durable: fixed sights with an integral front blade and a dovetailed rear notch. The frame carries a clear warning indicating it fires without a magazine.
The frame is aluminum alloy with an anodized finish, the barrel is steel, and the slide wears a black finish. Checkered black polymer grip panels with Beretta medallions provide a secure hold. Standard capacity is 15+1, and one 15-round magazine is included.
