This Remington Model 700 Classic is the limited, one-year-only 1989 chambering in .300 Weatherby Magnum, identified as Order No. 5903. It features a 24-inch sporter-contour, blued carbon-steel barrel with a crowned muzzle and no iron sights, a jeweled bolt, and a straight-comb walnut stock with classic checkering. The rifle presents in as-new condition with an excellent, mirror-bright bore and comes with its factory box bearing the matching serial-numbered label.

Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Specific Condition Notes: Mild storage wear is present from long-term storage. Otherwise, no handling marks are evident beyond routine inspection.

    What’s Included
    • Remington factory cardboard box with matching serial-numbered label for Model 700 Classic (.300 Weatherby Magnum, Order No. 5903)

The Model 700 Classic series selected .300 Weatherby Magnum as its one-year-only chambering for 1989, making this configuration both limited and desirable for collectors who track the Classic program by year. Factory documentation confirms the configuration via Order No. 5903 and the Classic program labeling.

Built on a blued carbon-steel receiver and a 24-inch sporter barrel, this rifle omits iron sights for a clean barrel profile and uses a crowned muzzle. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts with plug screws installed, and the bolt body is engine-turned (jeweled) for a refined factory finish.

The walnut stock follows the Classic pattern with a straight comb and cut checkering, plus sling-swivel studs and a recoil pad with a black spacer. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches, and overall length is approximately 44.25 inches. The rifle is full-size with a two-position safety.

Feeding is via a 3-round internal box magazine with BDL-style bottom metal and a hinged floorplate, consistent with the Classic configuration. The barrel shows a "PJ" date code and inspector/proof marks on the barrel shank, aligning with 1989 production in the USA.

This example remains in as-new condition with an excellent, mirror-bright bore and sharp rifling, and it is accompanied by the factory carton carrying the matching serial-numbered label, further supporting its originality within the Classic program.
