The 642-1 follows the Centennial pattern with an enclosed hammer for snag-free, DAO operation. It features a five-shot fluted cylinder chambered in .38 Special and fixed sights consisting of a serrated ramp front and a trench rear.
The Airweight frame is aluminum alloy with a matte silver finish, paired to a stainless steel barrel and a satin stainless cylinder. This construction delivers a listed weight of approximately 15.9 oz while retaining the corrosion resistance of stainless components.
Factory-installed Crimson Trace Lasergrips provide an integrated aiming aid and a secure hold with black rubber overmolding. The revolver retains the clean lines of the Centennial design and does not have an internal key lock.
Key dimensions include a 1.88 in barrel and a 6.31 in overall length, giving the revolver a compact footprint. This specific example is the 642 CT package (mfg part number 150972) and was made in the United States, with UPC 022188145359.
