The P220R delivers the classic SIG Sauer .45 ACP single-stack format with a DA/SA, recoil-operated, locked-breech system and a 4.4" barrel. It is a full-size configuration with an external spur hammer, black slide and frame, and a clean, straightforward control layout.
The slide uses rear cocking serrations and dovetailed sight cuts. The frame/dust cover ahead of the trigger guard is marked "SIG SAUER INC. EXETER-NH-USA." The barrel hood is marked "45 ACP" over "SIG." This example was made in the USA.
Customization includes bright fiber-optic sights with a red front and two green rear rods for a clear, high-contrast sight picture. A one-piece wrap-around rubber grip with finger grooves is installed to provide a stable, consistent hold.
An integral accessory rail with four slots is machined into the dust cover, offering mounting space for compatible lights or lasers. The single-stack magazine design supports an 8+1 capacity in .45 ACP.
Included are four factory SIG Sauer steel magazines with witness holes numbered 2–8, all stamped "SIG SAUER P220-1 .45".
