Built on a milled steel receiver with a blued finish and in-the-white bolt and carrier, this Factory 26 Type 56 represents the classic SKS pattern. It features hardwood furniture with a matching wood upper handguard and an approximate 20.5 in barrel. The length of pull measures 12.5 in.
The rifle retains the standard military setup: a fixed 10-round internal magazine loaded via stripper clips, an integral folding spike bayonet, and iron sights with a hooded front post and a meter-graduated tangent rear sight leaf. The action is semi-automatic, gas-operated, with a short-stroke piston and tilting-bolt design.
Markings include the triangle /26\ arsenal mark and the receiver legend reading 五六式. The barrel import stamp reads: SKS 7.62x39 JIANSHE CHINA TGI KNOX TN. The stock is numbered with the last five of the receiver serial, and the top cover is stamped HT 4028.
Customization on this example consists of a short slotted muzzle brake/compensator and a Russian Tula dust cover. The dust cover is identified as a Tula component and appears to be the only part of the rifle that is not original.
