The Variant 7 LEM setup delivers HK’s double-action-only system with a pre-cocked hammer feel and no external safety/decocker. This configuration also includes the round frame plug, and the ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release provides intuitive operation for either hand.
The compact frame is fiber-reinforced polymer, and the slide wears HK’s Hostile Environment finish. The 3.58-inch cold hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling, and the captive recoil spring is part of HK’s recoil-reduction system. Sight radius measures 5.35 inches.
Meprolight Tru-Dot night sights are installed for low-light visibility. The USP’s proprietary accessory grooves are present, and a GG&G rail adapter is installed to provide mounting for the included Streamlight TLR-7X.
Capacity is 12+1 in .40 S&W. This pistol comes with four 12-round steel magazines, each double-stack with witness holes.
