Built in Finland circa 1964–1965, this L461 Vixen Deluxe combines Sako’s small-action precision with upscale fit and finish. The receiver shows Finnish proof and inspection marks, with model markings that include VIXEN and MADE IN FINLAND on the barrel and L461 on the receiver-left rail.
The Deluxe stock is high-gloss walnut with a Monte Carlo comb and a right-hand cheekpiece. It features skip-line checkering for grip, a rosewood fore-end tip with a white-line spacer, a rosewood pistol-grip cap with a white inlay emblem, a SAKO-branded recoil pad, and front and rear sling-swivel studs.
The rifle is chambered in .222 Rem and fitted with a 23.5-inch sporter-contour barrel that is blued and finished with a recessed crown. Sights include a hooded, ramped front sight; there is no rear sight. The receiver has integral tapered Sako dovetail scope bases and anti-glare checkering on the bridges.
Metalwork details include a right-hand bolt with a round knob and polished bolt body. Feeding is through an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, providing 5-round capacity. The floorplate and trigger guard are factory engraved in a scroll/game-scene style, adding a distinctive Deluxe touch.
