The M6A2 uses LWRCI's short-stroke, self-regulating piston operating system with NiCorr-treated components and a mid-length gas system with a low-profile piston gas block. The combination is purpose-built for clean operation and durability in a carbine-length package.
The 14.5 in barrel is factory-pinned and welded with an A2 flash suppressor to achieve a 16 in overall barrel length. Chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 1:7 twist and polygonal rifling, it is configured for modern duty ammunition while maintaining a compact profile.
The rifle features FDE alloy receivers and a mid-length FDE rail handguard with a continuous 12 o'clock Picatinny top rail. Textured rail panels are installed for grip. Troy folding battle sights are mounted front and rear, giving fast, low-profile iron sight capability out of the box.
Furniture includes a VLTOR collapsible carbine stock with an approximate length of pull from 10.5 to 13.5 in, plus a Magpul pistol grip. The lower shows Safe/Semi/Auto selector pictograms and a manual safety selector. Markings include "LWRC INTERNATIONAL, M6, 5.56mm NATO, CAMBRIDGE, MD U.S.A." on the receiver and "M6A2 5.56mm" and "MADE IN THE U.S.A." on the upper. The rifle presents in FDE with black small parts for a clean, functional contrast.
