This Daniel Defense DD4 RIII S is a factory short-barreled rifle (NFA item) built on the AR-15 platform with an 11.5 inch cold hammer forged chrome-moly-vanadium barrel and a carbine-length gas system. It features the Daniel Defense RIS III 10.5 inch M-LOK two-piece free-float handguard with a continuous T-marked top Picatinny rail, a fully ambidextrous DD4 lower, and a KeyMo-pattern muzzle brake. The colorway pairs black receivers, stock, and pistol grip with an FDE handguard and foregrip, and it ships with three 32-round DDMAG polymer magazines in the factory hard case with manual.

The DD4 RIII S configuration centers on an 11.5 inch barrel made from chrome-moly-vanadium steel and cold hammer forged for durability. The barrel is threaded and fitted with a KeyMo-pattern muzzle brake, providing Dead Air KeyMo suppressor interface compatibility.
The RIS III 10.5 inch M-LOK two-piece free-float handguard delivers a rigid mounting platform with a continuous T-marked top Picatinny rail. Handguard markings include "RIS III 10.5" with the M-LOK logo and US PAT. 7,716,865, while the upper receiver is marked "DD4RIII.S" with the caliber marked "5.56."
The fully ambidextrous DD4 lower provides mirrored controls, including the safety, bolt catch/release, and magazine release. The rifle uses a direct impingement action and retains the familiar AR-15 manual of arms.
Receivers are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hardcoat anodized black finish. The rifle wears a black polymer stock and a Daniel Defense polymer pistol grip with soft-touch overmold. The colorway highlights an FDE handguard and foregrip against black receivers and furniture.
