This 1931-dated Spanish Mauser Modelo 1916 Mosquetón is a compact carbine built by Fábrica de Armas and chambered in 7mm Mauser (7x57mm). It features the Oviedo crest with year on the receiver, a small-ring, cock-on-close Mauser 1893/1916 action, and the classic carbine-length 21.75-inch barrel with military iron sights. Collectors will appreciate its identifiable markings; note the rifle has been sporterized from its original military configuration.

    What's Included
    • Fábrica de Armas Mauser Modelo 1916 Mosquetón rifle chambered in 7mm Mauser (7x57mm)

Built in Spain and dated 1931, this Modelo 1916 Mosquetón represents the carbine variant of the Spanish small-ring Mauser chambered in 7x57mm. The receiver bears the Fábrica de Armas / Oviedo crest with the year, providing clear factory and period identification.

It uses the small-ring, cock-on-close Mauser 1893/1916 action with a left-side gas-relief port. Feeding is from an internal 5-round box magazine designed for stripper-clip loading, and it uses a non-hinged detachable floorplate retained by a latch and guard screws, with an integral trigger guard. The receiver wears a blued finish, while the bolt is left in the white.

The steel barrel measures 21.75 inches and is paired with military iron sights: a barrel-mounted tangent rear sight and a front post sight. There is no upper handguard present; the original barrel bands and front nose cap/bayonet-lug assembly are absent, and the front sight stands alone on the bare barrel.

The one-piece hardwood stock provides a 13.0-inch length of pull and currently wears a small commercial-style bottom sling loop and a smooth steel buttplate. The overall configuration reflects a sporterized Mosquetón carbine with a shortened fore-end and removed military furniture.
