The bore is clean and sharp, and it comes with a factory 6-round magazine with finger-rest baseplate.

This Shield is the first-generation configuration, identifiable by its rear-only slide serrations. The slide has a matte black finish, and the frame is a black polymer with textured grip panels and S&W medallions. Sights are dovetailed 3-dot, with a white-dot front and two-dot rear.
A Crimson Trace Laser Trigger Guard (Laserguard) red laser is installed around the trigger guard for an integrated, low-profile fit. This customization adds a visible red aiming reference while keeping the pistol’s slim, carry-ready form factor intact.
The pistol is striker-fired with a manual thumb safety and a hinged safety trigger. It uses a steel 3.1 in barrel and an external extractor. Capacity is 6+1 with the included single-stack magazine.
