This GI Standard FS Nickel model delivers the classic 1911 profile with a nickel-finished 4140 steel slide and frame, a 5 inch button-rifled barrel, and an 8+1 capacity. It is built on a Government-size, single-stack 1911 platform and retains the Series 70–pattern design for a traditional operating system.
Period-correct GI details include fixed GI sights (narrow staked front blade and fixed rear in a dovetail), rear-only vertical slide serrations, a spur hammer, and a solid trigger with a serrated face. The standard GI recoil system uses a short guide rod and checkered plug, staying true to the classic setup.
Controls and safeties are straightforward and familiar, with a left-side thumb safety and a grip safety. Factory markings are present: the slide carries the Rock Island Armory crest/logo, the model is marked "M1911 A1 - FS," and the barrel hood is marked "CAL. 45 ACP." Import and proof marks include "APINTL-PAHRUMP NV" and "ACP PHILIPPINES," reflecting its Philippine manufacture.
