Product Description

Remington 870 TAC-14 Hardwood 12 Gauge, 14 in Barrel, Cylinder Bore, 4-Round Tube, Non-NFA Firearm

The Remington Model 870 TAC-14 Hardwood pairs compact dimensions with classic wood furniture. With a 14-inch cylinder-bore barrel and an overall length just over 26 inches, it classifies as a non-NFA "firearm" under federal law. This factory configuration features a hardwood bird's-head grip and ribbed corn-cob style forend, steel receiver and barrel with a matte blued/oxide finish, and it accepts both 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch 12-gauge shells.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Specific Condition Notes: The bore shows no inclusions. There are wear and usage marks on the magazine tube from pump operation. Light scratches are present on the pump grip and on the right side of the receiver.

    What’s Included
    • Sling: OD green web sling with integrated shell loops

This TAC-14 Hardwood maintains a streamlined configuration built around a 14-inch steel barrel with a cylinder bore and a single front bead. The overall length is just over 26 inches, which places it in the non-NFA "firearm" category rather than a short-barreled shotgun under federal law. It uses a fixed tubular magazine with a 4-round capacity and chambers both 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells.

The hardwood furniture sets this model apart. It leaves the factory with a bird's-head style wood pistol grip and a ribbed hardwood (corn-cob style) forend, delivering a solid, traditional feel instead of standard polymer. Sling hardware is installed front and rear for ready carry.

Construction details include a steel receiver and barrel finished in matte blued/oxide, with right-side ejection. The receiver is rollmarked "Remington 870," and the barrel is stamped "REMINGTON ILION, NY," reinforcing its U.S. manufacture and factory pedigree.

Sighting is straightforward with a bead front, and operation is pump-action. The compact format, robust materials, and hardwood furniture make this TAC-14 Hardwood a distinctive factory variant within the Model 870 family.
