Originally manufactured by Colt for U.S. military service, this M1911A1 was subsequently refurbished at Rock Island Arsenal. The pistol retains a matte gray military refinish from its arsenal overhaul and is marked with the RIA proof on the right side above the grip, confirming its rebuild pedigree.
Markings include UNITED STATES PROPERTY and M1911A1 U.S. ARMY on the frame, consistent with its service role. The slide features vertical rear serrations and a standard, non-lowered ejection port. It wears fixed GI sights with a staked narrow front blade and a small square-notch rear, matching its Government Model 5-inch GI configuration.
Built on a carbon steel frame and receiver and finished in matte gray, this full-size 1911 follows the classic single-action pattern. Controls and fire-control parts are GI-correct, including a short trigger, a short checkered spur hammer, a manual thumb safety, a grip safety, and a half-cock notch. Capacity is 7+1 rounds of .45 ACP.
The pistol is currently fitted with a Hogue rubber wraparound Monogrip with finger grooves for a secure hold, and it also includes a pair of brown checkered plastic 1911A1 grip panels. Five 7-round GI-pattern steel magazines are included to round out a ready-to-use, historically grounded package made in the United States.
