Made at Tula in 1939, this Model 1891/30 reflects late pre-war Soviet production with a round receiver and straight bolt handle. The receiver shank bears the Tula star arsenal crest, and an importer-applied serial number MK7390 is present on the receiver. The original Cyrillic serials show the receiver shank and bolt matching (НД1615), while the magazine floorplate is mismatched (НА1605).
The 29 inch steel barrel has an excellent, mirror-bright bore with sharp rifling. Blued steel components contrast with the in-the-white bolt. The rifle retains two spring-retained barrel bands and the original under-barrel cleaning rod. There is no side-folding bayonet hardware.
Furniture is classic 91/30: a hardwood stock with a reddish shellac-type finish, sling slots with metal escutcheons, a steel buttplate, and a wooden handguard. Sights are the standard iron set with a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
Chambered in 7.62x54R, this bolt-action rifle uses the Mosin-Nagant interrupter/ejector and a fixed internal 4+1 magazine. It is compatible with stripper clips for loading. An import mark is located near the muzzle.
