Its 18-inch 4140 steel barrel is treated with Melonite QPQ for durability and corrosion resistance and uses 5R rifling with a 1:8 twist for modern 6.5 Creedmoor loads. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 and fitted with a factory Savage multi-port muzzle brake.
The adjustable gas block paired with a Mid+ gas system provides fine-tuning for various ammunition, while the free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard provides 12 o'clock M-LOK slots and a short add-on Picatinny segment up front for mounting. A standard rear T-handle charging setup and a manual safety selector complete the familiar controls.
