Product Description

Colt MK IV/Series 80 Mustang .380 ACP, Blued Slide/Alloy Frame, 2.75 in Barrel, Micro SAO (1987)

This 1987 Colt MK IV/Series 80 Mustang is the standard model with a blued steel slide over a black anodized aluminum-alloy frame, identified by its MU-prefix serial (denoting the Mustang line). Compact and purpose-built, it features a locked-breech, linkless-cam action in a micro .380 format, paired with Series 80 firing-pin safety and a left-side thumb safety. It comes with one 6-round magazine and presents in good overall condition with a clean bore.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Rifling Condition: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: There is mild pitting on some metal surfaces and moderate finish wear in typical handling areas.

    What's Included
    • One 6-round single-stack steel magazine with flush floorplate

The Mustang is a micro-size, single-action .380 ACP built with a blued steel slide mated to an anodized aluminum-alloy frame. Its bushingless 2.75-inch barrel and linkless-cam, locked-breech design are hallmarks of this early Colt pocket pistol configuration.

Controls and protection features include a left-side thumb safety and the Series 80 firing-pin safety. The short, solid, curved trigger and exposed, serrated-spur hammer give it a familiar Colt single-action feel in a compact package.

The slide carries rear vertical serrations for positive manipulation and fixed, low-profile sights consisting of a front blade and rear notch. Black checkered grips with Colt medallions complete the classic look.

This example represents the standard, non-Pocketlite configuration distinguished by the MU-prefix serial, featuring a blued steel slide over an anodized aluminum-alloy frame. The Mustang’s early locked-breech micro-.380 layout later influenced designs such as the SIG P238.
