This MCX Virtus Patrol uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system paired with a two-position adjustable gas block for suppressed or unsuppressed settings. The design emphasizes reliability and controllable operation while maintaining a compact, adaptable footprint.
The 16" heavy-profile barrel is cold hammer forged with a 1:7 twist and threaded at the muzzle, and it comes fitted with a 3-prong flash hider. The MCX platform also highlights user-swappable barrels and a durability claim of 20,000 rounds without parts replacement.
A free-floating aluminum M-LOK handguard includes an integral QD sling socket and runs beneath a full-length MIL-STD-1913 top rail. The rifle ships without iron sights. Ambidextrous controls include the magazine release and safety selector, and the Matchlite Duo two-stage trigger provides a refined pull.
The side-folding, telescoping stock works with the MCX internal recoil system, allowing the rifle to be fired with the stock folded. Length of pull is 13.25", and capacity is 30+1.
The aluminum-alloy receivers wear SIG's Elite Concrete gray finish and are marked "VIRTUS" on the upper, "SIG MCX MULTI-CALIBER" on the magwell, and "SIG SAUER INC., EXETER–NH–USA" on the right side.
