Built by Inland Division, the sole manufacturer of the M1A1 variant, this carbine aligns with 1944 production characteristics. The receiver is marked "INLAND DIV." and the receiver ring reads "U.S. CARBINE / CAL. .30 M1," consistent with Inland’s wartime rollmarks.
The classic paratrooper configuration is present: a side-folding steel wire stock with leather cheek pad and a stamped, checkered steel buttplate, paired with a walnut pistol grip. It retains period-correct details including the two-rivet top handguard, the narrow barrel band without bayonet lug, a protected front sight, and a rear aperture sight. The steel receiver retains a parkerized finish reflecting standard wartime production; the barrel exterior and the front sight/band are bright bare steel rather than parkerized.
The barrel has been threaded as a later, non-GI alteration, and a barrel blank adapter is included. "P" proof marks are visible on the barrel and on the original stock, underscoring its proofed wartime components. The action is semi-automatic with a short-stroke gas piston, chambered in .30 Carbine with a stated capacity of 30+1 when using the included 30-round magazines.
For flexibility, the rifle is currently set up in its M1A1 paratrooper configuration and also includes a full-length fixed wood stock with matching handguard. Reference overall lengths are approximately 35.6 inches extended and about 25.5 inches folded, offering compact portability in the folded position.
