The M&P15 platform is a proven AR-15 configuration built on aluminum receivers and marked "Made in U.S.A., Springfield, MA." This example uses a semi-automatic, direct-impingement system with a carbine-length gas setup and a 16-inch barrel. The barrel is threaded and fitted with an A2 birdcage flash suppressor.
Sighting equipment is well-sorted: an A2 F-marked fixed front sight base with bayonet lug and front sling swivel pairs with a folding rear backup iron sight. A flat-top upper with forward assist, case deflector, and ejection-port cover supports the included AT3 Tactical micro red dot on a riser. The red dot uses a simple dot reticle for fast targeting.
Furniture and controls are practical and comfortable. The rifle wears a Magpul MOE carbine-length polymer handguard, a collapsible 6-position stock with a rear sling loop, and a rubberized finger-groove pistol grip with an S&W medallion. Length of pull is 12.25 inches.
