Built on a polymer receiver and frame with a steel barrel, this Scorpion EVO 3 S1 uses a closed-bolt, straight-blowback action. The 7.72 inch cold hammer forged barrel is threaded and fitted with a removable muzzle device.
Controls are set up for versatility: an ambidextrous manual safety, a paddle-style ambidextrous magazine release, and a left-side bolt release. The side-mounted charging handle is non-reciprocating, swappable/reversible, and locks upward in its notch for convenience. The polymer grip features molded chevron texturing and a fixed, one-piece design with no trigger-reach adjustment.
Sighting and mounting options are robust, with a full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail along the top and CZ folding polymer iron sights installed (protected post front, aperture/diopter rear). The installed aftermarket slotted aluminum handguard adds a rigid, lightweight interface at the front end.
Capacity is 35+1 with five 35-round Palmetto polymer magazines included. Markings include the CZ triangular proof with "17," an encircled "P" inspection mark, "CZ-USA, Kansas City, KS," and "MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC," with the proof year 2017 visible on the barrel window.
