The S&W M&P Shield X is a compact, striker-fired 9mm built with an optics-ready slide, stainless steel barrel and slide with Armornite finish, and a flat-faced trigger. It ships with steel sights featuring an Ameriglo Trooper LumiGreen night front and a blacked-out serrated rear, plus both 15- and 13-round double-stack magazines. A two-slot Picatinny accessory rail, aggressive grip texture, and an extended beavertail with an undercut trigger guard round out this configuration.

This Shield X configuration uses a striker-fired action with a flat-faced trigger and a no thumb safety setup, paired with a trigger safety. The frame displays the factory marking CAUTION–CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED.
The stainless steel slide is finished in Armornite and includes an optics cut with RMSc/K footprint and a cover plate, plus a ClearSight-style gas-venting cut. Front and rear serrations provide positive manipulation.
Sight picture is anchored by steel sights: an Ameriglo Trooper LumiGreen front night sight and a blacked-out serrated rear sight. This setup favors quick visibility up front while keeping the rear clean and non-reflective.
The polymer frame features aggressive texture, an extended beavertail, and an undercut trigger guard for a secure, controllable hold. A two-slot Picatinny accessory rail supports compatible lights or accessories. Despite its compact size, the pistol offers capacity up to 15+1 and comes with both 15- and 13-round magazines.
