FN Herstal FAL Paratrooper .308 Win Pre-Ban Belgian Semi-Auto, 18 in Barrel, Steyr Secaucus Import
This Belgian-made FN FAL Paratrooper is a Steyr Secaucus, N.J. pre-ban import with a metric Type III receiver and commercial markings. The original 21 in barrel was professionally cut to 18 in to resemble the Bush Rifle configuration and is fitted with a non-standard multi-port muzzle brake. The right receiver rail is marked ".308 MATCH," and the rifle retains its paratrooper side-folding tubular stock and adjustable gas system. The bore is clean with excellent rifling.

Built by FN in Belgium and imported by Steyr Secaucus, N.J. prior to the 1989 import ban, this commercial semi-automatic FAL features the desirable metric Type III receiver. Markings include FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL, MADE IN BELGIUM, STEYR SECAUCUS N.J., and ".308 MATCH" on the right receiver rail.
Configured in the Paratrooper pattern, it has a side-folding tubular steel stock with a ribbed buttplate and rear sling loop, a black synthetic pistol grip, and Austrian StG-58 pattern sheet-steel clamshell handguards. This example is configured without a carry handle and without a bipod. Length of pull is 14.0 in.
The original 21 in barrel was cut to 18 in to emulate the Bush Rifle style. The steel barrel is topped with a non-standard multi-port muzzle brake.
It uses FN's short-stroke gas piston system with an adjustable gas regulator and a tilting-bolt locking setup. Sights are iron, with a protected front post on the FN gas block. The rifle feeds from detachable metric FAL magazines, with a stated capacity of 20+1.
