The Lite Rack system uses a lighter recoil spring, enhanced serrations, and pronounced cocking ears to make slide manipulation easier. Combined with the compact size and 3.42 in barrel, this configuration is designed for straightforward handling without adding bulk.
Ruger's Secure Action fire-control pairs a protected internal hammer with a bladed trigger safety, a neutrally balanced sear, and an internal hammer catch. A manual thumb safety is included. The pistol is marked to indicate it will fire without a magazine installed.
Lightening windows and a top window near the muzzle reduce slide weight and add visual inspection points, while front and rear serrations improve purchase.
Controls and sights are practical and modern: a left-side magazine release button, a green fiber-optic front sight in a dovetail, and a plain black drift-adjustable rear sight.
